Indoor track runs in the cold and the dark, in buildings instead of on trails. That is where the real development happens. Cross-country in New York runs from August through November. Outdoor track runs April through June. Between them sits a season that gets less attention than either: indoor track, January through March, in whatever facility the district can put athletes in.
